If you are interested in commissioning me to undertake some research for you, please get in touch via the Contact page, with details of your request and I will do my best to answer your enquiry as soon as I am able to.

In some instances, you may already have a good idea of what you would like to find, whether that happens to be a baptism, an entry in a trade directory, a will or some more intensive research into multiple generations of a family. If that applies to you, I can provide you with a tailored quotation for a research session, or I can supply a detailed price list.
I am able to travel to the Lancashire Archives, as well as Blackburn Library, Clitheroe Library, the Harris Library in Preston, Liverpool Central Library, Manchester Central Library, and the Working Class Movement Library at Salford.
For general information, I can take payment by cheque, bank transfer or Paypal, and I welcome enquiries from both UK residents and those living overseas.

A NOTE ABOUT PAYMENTS

I am always delighted to receive research enquiries, and when work is agreed, I will endeavour to complete the project within a reasonable time (usually 2 to 3 weeks; please see the home page of this site for any changes to this). If you have not received any results from me after 3 weeks, please feel free to contact me to check on the progress of the work.
Due to the nature of family history research, although I can guarantee that your search will be completed and that I will make every endeavour to consult any materials outlined in your research proposal, I cannot guarantee that the historic materials most relevant to your enquiry will have survived, that they will contain information of direct relevance to your ancestral search or that I will be able to search all suggested materials in the timeframe agreed with my customer.

Payment for research is not due until I have dispatched any findings to my customers. Once work has been sent (by post, e-mail or other electronic means) I reserve the right to invoice for any work sent within 30 days.

Please note that payment is due for all work received and acknowledged by the customer (including for research sessions where it was not possible to find the requested information).
I can also create bespoke family tree charts, either to complement any research done or as a gift for a special occasion, up to A3 size.

Because each family is unique, every family tree chart will be, too. and creating my own charts allows me to combine my research skills with my interest in photography and design, to offer you a truly individual ancestral chart.

I use a local printing company to produce the full-colour tree charts on thin, matte card. Prices for an unframed chart start from £50, plus postage to anywhere in the world, but a discount can be offered if the tree is ordered in conjunction with one of my standard research sessions.
