Finishing off last year's work

Christmas can really get in the way sometimes - I like it very much, but starting a painting in November and then getting distracted by Christmas and other things doesn't help much. So, today, I've finally managed to finish off a painting of St. Anne's Church in Ormskirk, which is where a lot of my family were married and baptised back in the 1700s and 1800s.

This particular painting took a while to finish; the light and shade and the general autumnal feel wasn't very easy to get right, but for now, I'm quite happy with it! It's definitely going to go on display when my New Shades of West Lancashire exhibition starts in April.
