Notes: At present, the 6 May 1848 burial record is believed to relate to the correct Ellen/Helen Hurst. It states that she was four years old, and a Roman Catholic.
Her mother’s parents farmed in Simonswood during the early 1840s, and her maternal uncle Joseph Hurst was farming in Bickerstaffe by the 1850s; it is possible that Ellen/Helen was with her mother’s family when she died.
