Notes: The 1881 census shows that John Woodcock was unmarried, and working as a servant at Lydiate Hall Farm. In 1891, he is unmarried. By 1901, he was married to Elizabeth and the census suggests that they apparently had one daughter, Lilly (born in 1900), but they were also living with a daughter, Martha Woodcock (aged 21, born in Great Crosby). In 1911, Elizabeth stated that she had been married for 29 years, and that only two of her three children were still alive.

At present, I am not sure whether Martha is the daughter of John and Elizabeth, the daughter of John and a previous (as yet unidentified wife), or the daughter of Elizabeth and an unknown previous partner.
